Windows Mobile 6.5
Released May, 2009
The Pros:Includes flash and javascript support. Wide variety of applications available. New application store makes it easy to browse, purchase and download new software.
The Cons:Backup/restore service means you'll be placing all your personal data in a place where you do not control it. Not as attractive or polished as other mobile phone operating systems such as mobile OSX or Android. No jailing / partitioning of user application space means rogue applications can damage other applications and system data.
Introduced officially on February 16th 2009 at the GSMA Mobile World Congress, Windows Mobile 6.5 is the latest version of Microsoft's operating system for smartphones and underpowered mobile devices such as PDAs and MIDs.

- Windows Marketplace for Mobile: introduces an application store for searching, browsing and buying applications
- Internet Explorer Mobile: a newly upgraded browser based on the Internet Explorer 6 engine, includes flash and javascript support as well important mobile features such as zoom
- New UI: designed to be 'finger friendly', the interface features a honeycomb design that is easy to interact with through touch sensitive displays
