The Pros:Quickly shows most popular links of the day. Simple and effective upvoting/downvoting and karma system. Is not Digg.
The Cons:A lot of content is reposted ad nauseum. Sometimes memes and other in-jokes get in the way of intelligent discourse.
reddit (also Reddit) is a social news website on which users can post links to content on the web. Other users may then vote the posted links down or up, causing them to appear more or less prominently on the Reddit home page.

Erik:
#reddit I was a fan of
#digg a few years ago, and didn't really understand why reddit existed. I've been visiting the site more frequently lately, and it's amazing how reddit has all but won the battle. I would never have guessed it. Kudos, to the reddit founders for doing what they did in such an efficient way. I think they never raised any funding beyond their 100K seed funding out of Y Combinator.
