Opera Mini (iPhone app)
Released April, 2010
The Pros:Uses compression - helps with speed, but also delivers the same content with less used bandwidth (saves money, especially while roaming). Custom search engines. Handy page text search functionality.
The Cons:No manual zoom. It can't replace Safari completely because of zoom and rendering limitations. Rendering engine not compatible with all iPhone specific CSS libraries.
Opera Mini is a web browser from Opera Software ASA that is designed for use with Apple's iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad devices. Intended to compete with Apple's built-in Safari browser, Opera Mini uses compression technology via the company's proxy servers to increase page-load speed without increasing data expenditure.
Opera Software claims that this method can make transfer rates "two to three times faster", and also increases compatibility with webpages that aren't optimized for mobile viewing.

Erik:
#opera_mini_iphone_app Man, so close. The inability for Opera to render mobile optimized pages correctly prevents this from replacing Safari completely as my browser of choice.
