Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
$239.00
Released January, 2007
The Pros:GUI looks pretty fancy. User friendly. High security.
The Cons:Takes up a lot of background resources for gamers making games almost unplayable at high graphics. Lacks some of the best features of the system in this version. A crippled version of the OS at an incredibly high price.
From Wikipedia: Containing all features from Home Basic, this edition will also support more advanced features aimed for the home market segment, such as HDTV support and DVD authoring. Extra premium games, mobile and tablet PC, network projector, touchscreen, and auxiliary display (via Windows SideShow) support, and a utility to schedule backups are also included.

Home Premium supports 10 simultaneous peer network connections (compared to 5 in Home Basic). The version of Meeting Space included will also allow for interaction (in Home Basic, meetings may only be viewed). This edition is comparable to Windows XP Media Center Edition. 64-bit Home Premium will support up to 16 GB of physical memory, and will be supported until 2012.

#microsoft_windows_vista_home_premium well, i've finally bit the bullet and got a new system with vista home premium. No complaints so far. Rock solid, clean (after I configured it right), sleeps, hibernates, wakes up, works great. Boots up really fast.
I really like the windows media center that comes with it by default.
That said... cancel/allow is really annoying indeed :P lol Every little thing... sometimes multiple times in a row. The Mac/Bunu way of have a sudo really is much better.
