The Pros:Automatically able to chat with your Google+ contacts which is basically all of your GMail contacts. Includes Sent, Delivered, Read message feedback. Can be installed as a separate standalone app from Google+ on Android.
The Cons:Not useful until more people use Google+, if ever. Can't see when other person is typing. Can't send images/videos.
Google Messenger (formerly called "Huddle") is the free instant messaging app included with Google+ for you mobile device. It provides an alternative to texting by allowing for free chat with all of your Google+ contacts.
It is very similar to BBM for Blackberry, Kik Messenger, PingChat!, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger. The app can be accessed from the Google+ app home screen or can be directly started with a shortcut on Android devices.

#google_messenger Still can't say I've used it and will on a regular base one year after I've started using it. Adoption level was higher for me with Whatsapp
