The Facebook Messenger App is an application for the iPhone and Android platform that provides a separate messenger system for Facebook.  This application allows the user to send messages directly to individual friends or groups.

Recipients will receive the messages instantly through BBM, Huddle for Google+, and on Apple's due to be released iMessage. The Facebook Messenger App has the ability to share locations and add photos to the messages that have been sent.  This app is streamlined with the direct purpose of sending messages, oppose to the primary Facebook application that allows users to search for friends, chat and check status updates.  The Facebook Messenger App is available from the App store and the Android Market.
