The Cons:Duplicates. Friend spam / shout spam. Lots self-referential stories about digg.
Digg is a website where community members submit stories and other users can "digg" these stories. If a story gets enough diggs, it will show up on the homepage. Digg is an example of social software.

#reddit I was a fan of
#digg a few years ago, and didn't really understand why reddit existed. I've been visiting the site more frequently lately, and it's amazing how reddit has all but won the battle. I would never have guessed it. Kudos, to the reddit founders for doing what they did in such an efficient way. I think they never raised any funding beyond their 100K seed funding out of Y Combinator.
