Backblaze Online Backup
Released January, 2008
The Pros:$5 per month for unlimited storage. Restore previous versions of files. Easy install. $5/month unlimited beats everyone on price by far.
The Cons:Single File Cannot exceed 4GB. Only supports Windows XP, Vista and Mac. After 30 days, removes from archive files "deleted" AND "DISCONNECTED DRIVES". Means if you backup an external drive, you must reconnect it to that particular computer at least once every 30 days. If you forget, it's lost (takes days to upload!).
After installing the Backblaze application, it will back up every file, regardless of where it is on your computer and saves it to their remote secure online storage center. This process is done in the background when connected to the internet and will transfer the data when your computer is not being used.

Backblaze has several processes running that are required for various functions of the backup system. These are listed below and are required for proper operation.
bztransmit.exe - encrypts and transmits files
bzserv.exe - monitors for new and changed files
bzbui.exe - powers the user interface
bzfilelist.exe – generates overall drive analysis
bzworker.exe – manages installation and ongoing patches
bzbmenu – mac client menu management process

Backs up everything on your computer and external hard drives (including email). There is no need to pick and choose each file or folder.

User interface to select what folders are backed up is not a "checkbox list" where you can click multiple folders quickly (iDrive does this well). For each new folder selection, one has to use the file selection dialog box again. What a pain!

islandboi:
#backblaze_online_backup Cancelled due to slow upload speeds after I had uploaded 200 GB. Found CrashPlan instead, which is MUCH better software (de-dups, etc) and is $5/month for ENTIRE FAMILY, not just one computer.
