Adobe Premiere Elements 9 is the 2010/2011 version of the Premiere Elements series, and it was released in September 2010. It’s a scaled-down, nonlinear video editing software released as a more budget-friendly and less complicated counterpart to Adobe Premiere Pro.

In particular, Elements 9 is in the first in the serious to offer both Windows and Macintosh compatibility. Also added is the ability to import directly from new sources such as a DSLR or mobile phone, the ability to export simple uploads to Facebook, an option to create web DVDs, and a bevy of new automated features. The most signature change is that the playback engine has been revamped with improved handling of HD formats. In particular, it now supports 24fps, as well as the ability to overlay two AVCHD streams.
