This version of Adobe Acrobat is able to combine content from many different kinds of files, including documents, e-mail, and web pages into a single compressed PDF file. By compressing the content, it takes up less space, and is easier to send and share with others. Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard also is able to convert PDF files into Microsoft Word documents. When doing this, the file retains all the formatting and layout, so content can be reused easily. When compared to a similar product from Adobe, Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard falls short in certain areas, such as it's lack of certain features Acrobat 9 Pro includes. These features range from synchronizing document views (which lets clients and partners view the same page at the same time) to managing and tracking document reviews (which lets people comment on a document, so the user may receive input), and the ability to create "PDF Portfolios". The portfolios are similar to Standard's feature of combining content into a single PDF, but goes further and allows the user to create templates to guide viewer's through it.
